Scottish Women’s Convention
Design | www.scottishwomensconvention.org
We were delighted to be asked to develop a new site for the Scottish Women’s Convention. The organisation works to ensure women’s voices are heard on a range of key issues and their old site was a bit out-of-date and difficult to update.
We designed a bright and inviting new site to help the team at SWC promote their message more effectively. It uses different colours for each section of the site from a bright palette, with use of images throughout to encourage visitors to explore.
SWC holds events across Scotland each year and it was vital that these be promoted strongly through the new site. We developed a system to display forthcoming events on the front page, both on a map and in text form; visitors can also choose which category of event to view on the map, to see events that are specifically of interest to them.
As the organisation uses Twitter heavily, we embedded the latest tweets into the front page to provide another manner in which the site would be kept up-to-date.
We also installed a great search engine to allow users to find content more easily.
How it works
The site is powered by our in-house content management system, fuzzylime (cms+), which was designed with usability in mind – meaning that the small team at SWC will be able to carry out updates to the site in a straightforward manner without losing hours of time to simple changes!
