We were asked to design and build a site for Scottish Veterans Residence's new fundraising campaign. We'd previously researched, written and produced a book for the charity to mark its 100th anniversary and were delighted to work with them again.
The charity is opening a new base in Glasgow and needs to raise funds through a public appeal as well as securing grants.
Work is already under way on the ground and the appeal is nearing 10% of its £175,000 target.
We built a site to incorporate information about the new project and about SVR, as well as an appeal from the campaign's patron, Lorraine Kelly.
The site also puts the ability to donate front and centre, making it really prominent on the home page and showing the names of the latest donors.
It is integrated with JustGiving, where SVR already had an account, and allows people to donate a pre-defined amount or one that they enter themselves as quickly and easily as possible. The names of donors are then also showed on a "donors' wall" page within the site as well as scrolling on the front page.
How it works
The site is powered by our fuzzylime (cms+) system, which means the charity is able to add in new information and updates on the project as it goes forward.
We also built a custom module to work with JustGiving's API and download information on new donations automatically as they come in.
