Design/Coding | www.snapdragononline.co.uk
We first worked with Snapdragon in early 2013, redeveloping the business’s website to make it easier to use, working on a new logo to integrate with the site and redesigning the site to more accurately reflect its market.
In 2015, Snapdragon asked us to revisit the site again as the business had changed considerably over a relatively short timeframe. The team were looking for a cleaner look that put the products to the fore and really made them “pop”. The new site also had to be responsive, to reflect the huge growth in use of mobiles and tablets, particularly in e-commerce. The business had had new offline branding produced and the website had to reflect that.
We produced a design that was bright, colourful and made great use of high-quality imagery throughout. We updated the site’s blog page to include full use of pictures, too, in a departure from the usual text-based style of these sections.
Snapdragon also asked us to code a refer-a-friend system to meet their needs and we developed this and slotted it seamlessly into the site.
Because Snapdragon’s old site was already running on our system, the new-look launch was just a case of flipping an electronic switch, with all their customers’ details and previous orders – and even their basket contents! – transferred automatically. This also meant Snapdragon could work behind the scenes on setting up the content of the new site while the same system kept powering the old one.
As with the previous site, personalisation is a really key part of what Snapdragon does and we worked to make sure this remained as easy as possible for their customers, and for the team at Snapdragon to double-check what they were producing.
How it works
The site is powered by our fuzzylime (cms+) software with its e-commerce add-on. This is the system Snapdragon have been using for more than two years now and we've continued to adapt bits of it to meet their needs as they’ve grown.
