We were asked by our friends at Engender if we’d be able to build a minisite for International Women’s Day on March 8, 2017.
The team wanted to record the work done by women across Scotland, and aimed to have a site that featured blog posts, tweets and information as well as a short survey.
They had previously had a short film produced on the same topic and we were able to reuse some of the artwork from that within the site’s design. We also used some of the colours from the film to create really striking pages featuring stories and tweets.
The site was designed to be fully responsive and pulls through tweets using key hashtags automatically, after which the team at Engender can choose which ones to feature and highlight.
How it works
The site is powered by our in-house content management system, fuzzylime (cms+), which Engender were already using for their main site. This meant they could pick it up and start using the site straight away – ideal as there was a tight turnaround on the project. We built a custom module to support pulling through tweets and allowing the team to choose which ones they wished to display.
