Made in Scotland's Emma Allen asked fuzzylime to build a web presence for her magazine.
Made in Scotland had produced one print issue and, as it moved forward, Emma was keen for it to gain an online presence.
The magazine contained a huge range of features as well as a business directory and events listings, and it was important that the site included all of those as well. It was also to allow new businesses to sign up online and update their directory profiles.
We worked with Emma to build a site that reflected the design of the printed magazine but was also as easy to use online as possible.
It was deliberately built to be really scaleable, meaning new content will be able to be slotted in and the site will be able to deal well with a growing number of businesses and events as it goes forward.
How it works
The base of the site is powered by our fuzzylime (cms+) software, with some additions made to support the stylish front page.
We also built custom plugins for the system to support member logins and the directory, as well as the events system and a system to choose and manage and the adverts shown on the site (it also tracks the number of people who are clicking on these).
