We were delighted to be contacted by the team behind the hugely successful Lost Glasgow Facebook page. They wanted to expand into having a full website to complement their social media presence and asked if we could help.
We built a site that would be able to integrate with the existing posts and community but expand, going forward. Posts could be tagged, allowing users to find others that were similar, and would also be shown on a map, so visitors could see what had been posted that was specific to an area of the city they were interested in.
New posts added to the site get passed automatically to Facebook – with full text and images appearing. They are also shown on Twitter, with large image previews incorporated here – something that wasn’t previously possible. When users post comments on Facebook, the site will automatically be updated to show that this has happened and invite users to click through to view these.
We also made the site fully searchable to allow users to find exactly the posts they were keen to view.
How it works
The site is powered by our fuzzylime (cms+) software, which will make it really easy for the Lost Glasgow team to post new content whenever they wish.
