Inverclyde Tourist Group saw the work we'd done for their east-coast equivalents at Cruise Forth and asked us if we'd be able to work with them on a new site for them.
The site is aimed at visitors arriving on cruise ships and provides information on local activities as well as free tours that are run by the group.
For the first time, the site allows visitors to book a place on a tour they'd like to go on directly, with these details being passed on to the group automatically once the reservation is confirmed.
It also contains a page specifically tailored to each ship, with details of that day's tours and information about disembarking or transiting through Greenock.
Every page also includes Google Translate functionality, allowing visitors to view the site in their own language.
Finally, there is a members' area, allowing the group to use the site to discuss upcoming issues and members to access information they need.
How it works
The site is powered by our fuzzylime (cms+) system. We built add-ons to power the section listing the forthcoming ships (this information is also pulled through to the front page automatically) and the tour booking system. We also produced coding for a members' area, for use by the group themselves.
