fuzzylime was approached by the team behind Football Memories to produce a site for the project.
Football Memories is a spinoff from Alzheimer Scotland's pioneering work on their Football Reminiscence project, which trains volunteers to spend time with people with dementia who have an interest in football, talking about teams and matches from the past and working with images and memorabilia to stimulate memories.
The site invites people to share their own memories and a large number of celebrities have already contributed to it. It's now open to members of the public, who can submit their own memories directly through the site.
It also lists the locations of local Football Reminiscence groups across the country on a Google Map.
How it works
The basis of the site is powered by our fuzzylime (cms+) software, but we added a number of extra features.
The memories database can be managed through the CMS and users can also sign up to the site directly, allowing them to post their own memories (these are reviewed before going live and users receive an email when their memory is posted). Visitors can also post their comments on memories – for example, if they have an additional memory from a similar event.
