Gender Matters: Holyrood 2016
Design | holyrood.engender.org.uk
We were approached by the team at Engender, who asked us how best to promote their Gender Matters campaign online in the run-up to the Holyrood 2016 elections.
The team had already had a printed guide produced to back up their “asks” – the 20 things they thought were most important to push for in the poll – and wanted this to be reflected online.
We suggested it was probably best to put together a dedicated subsite for the issue, rather than it being subsumed within the organisation’s main site. This also gave us more freedom in terms of design – we could make the look of that section fit in fully with the offline branding.
The site is designed to make it easy for visitors to get straight to the section or sections they’re most interested in, while encouraging them to read on to other areas and to find out what they can do in terms of holding hustings or quizzing their candidates.
How it works
The subsite is powered by our fuzzylime (cms+) software. This was already in use for the main Engender site, making it easy for the small team to pick up and use for this campaign.
