Little green blog

If you want to know what we’ve been up to at fuzzylime then this is the place to find out.

Lest we forget

Scottish National War Memorial websiteThe original website for Scottish National War Memorial had been set up many years ago and was looking very tired and was no longer fit for purpose.

We were asked to put forward a proposal to revamp it in time for the anniversary of the start of the First World War this year.

We were delighted to have our proposal accepted and, in a first for fuzzylime, we went to our initial meeting at Edinburgh Castle. It is a fitting site for the memorial and a very grand arena for a meeting!

The physical memorial commemorates and names all Scots killed in conflict from 1914 onwards. The online memorial allows visitors to search the roll to find the extract for anyone killed in conflict since 1914.

For the first time, visitors can now purchase online a particular extract from the roll of honour or a certificate for an individual casualty. Prior to the launch of the new website this had to be done by phone or email and the online method will help cut down some of the admin for the busy team who are responsible for the memorial.

It was very important that the website reflected the gravitas of the Memorial – while the website has been modernised and is much easier to use it still respects the solemnity of the subject matter.

We would definitely recommend a visit to the Memorial itself but if you can't get to Edinburgh then why not take a look at the website and try a search of the roll of honour.
