It has always been a delight to work with the fantastic team at Scottish Spina Bifida Association so we were very excited when they asked us to work on something a bit different.
As part of their role in supporting young people and helping them on the transition to adulthood, they are involved in helping them manage their health care and records.
Rather than this being something dull, the team came up with the idea of introducing an interactive access page which young people could customise themselves and receive rewards for logging in.
We decided (having left our teenage years behind a couple of years ago now!) that the best people to speak to would be the service users themselves. We were delighted to be invited along to their youth group on a Friday evening to meet them and hear their ideas for their page.
There were a lot of different opinions and we quickly realised a lot of customisation would be required! We have taken it all onboard and produced something which is being tested right now.
When a service user logs in, their progress is recorded (they can choose how they want this to look eg bronze, silver and gold medals) and they can customise their page with their favourite things: colours, moods, YouTube videos, favourite photos and images etc.
We enjoyed making our pages - you can see David's on the right. The jury's out on what it says about him!
