It has been a real pleasure to work with the team at Scottish Veterans Residences again - this time to produce a website to mark the launch of SVR's new appeal, Glasgow's Protect Our Veterans Fund.
SVR, which already has residences in Edinburgh and Dundee, knows only too well that many people are leaving the forces struggling with mental health issues and homelessness and feeling they have nowhere to turn until they hit rock bottom.
The Fund hopes to change that by helping veterans as soon as they leave the forces. Bellrock Close, in the east end of Glasgow, will provide 51 flats, support, help and training for vulnerable veterans from Glasgow and the west of Scotland.
The website is very important to the campaign - it aims to encourage people to donate as well as allowing them to donate online.
The front page of the site shows how the fund is building towards its target and is automatically updated as people donate online. It was important to automate as much as possible to cut down on the administration time for the team at SVR. We also built a donor wall to show who had donated and this also updates automatically as donations come in.
If you wish to donate or find out more about the project then please take a look at the new website.
For any media types reading this then the fund will officially launch at the Tall Ship on Wednesday, April 24, and you can find out more information on the media page.
