When landscape photographer Lucy Dawson grew out of her home studio space she knew she wanted somewhere special to showcase her work. As she looked around, she came up with the idea of sharing her space with other Scottish artists and Strathaven Gallery was born.
Add in comfy sofas, a wood-burning stove and delicious home-baking and Lucy came up with the perfect place for people to enjoy arts and crafts over a cup of coffee and a cake.
Whe Lucy approached fuzzylime the gallery was approaching its first anniversary and had already outgrown its initial website. Lucy wanted something much more modern and dynamic and able to reflect the ethos of the gallery.
The website is used to showcase the wonderful art on display and to give more information on the current exhibitors and a taster of their work.
Lucy also asked us to use our previous experience to write the content for the website, including information about the gallery itself and information on its exhibitors.
She also hires out the venue in the evenings and the gallery hosts many events, which are now shown in the new site's events section. This is run as an add-on to the content management system, which makes it very easy for Lucy to update.
The home page of the website allows visitors to quickly establish what they are looking for and guides them to the appropriate section, be it the gallery, coffee shop, exhibitors or simply how to find the gallery.
If you are looking for something different as a Christmas gift then why not take a look - there are gifts to suit any budget.
